What do our Tobago Bioluminescence tours look like

So, you’ve booked one of our Bioluminescence Tours in Tobago—get ready for an unforgettable adventure!

The start time of our tours changes depending on the time of year. During the winter months, we meet at 6:05 p.m. in front of Radical Sports at Pigeon Point, Tobago. In the summer, we meet a bit later at 6:30 p.m. Since it gets darker earlier as we get closer to December, that extra darkness is perfect for experiencing the magic of bioluminescence on our night tours!

When you arrive, we’ll check you in, settle any remaining payments, and have you sign a waiver. Once the whole group has arrived, we’ll fit everyone with a life jacket and provide each kayak with a light. Then, we’ll go through a quick briefing on kayaking basics and give you an overview of the tour and what we expect to see.

After the briefing, it’s time to hit the water! Our kayaks will be ready and waiting on the beach. Our first stop is the stunning No Man’s Land, a secluded beach where we’ll take a break. Here, we’ll share some interesting facts about the area and point out the fascinating nature around us.

Next, we head into the Bon Accord Lagoon in search of the magical bioluminescent plankton known as dinoflagellates. Once we find the perfect spot, you’ll have the chance to swim in the glowing waters or splash around from your kayak—either way, it’s an experience you’ll never forget!

But the adventure doesn’t end there. We’ll continue exploring the lagoon, searching for unique marine life that we’ve encountered on our many tours over the years. We like to keep this part a surprise, as nature always has something special in store for us.

To wrap up the night, we paddle back to Pigeon Point, where we take a group photo and share our memories of what will likely be the most exciting adventure you’ll have in Tobago!
